Teacher workshop at 10:00 am
Piano teachers hold a lot of hidden guilt about teaching composition. Do you wish you could break free from self-doubt, hesitation, lack of time, and kickstarting reluctant students? This workshop comes from my personal experience and journey through these obstacles. Join me and explore how it feels to liberate your spirit into a creative state and learn how to guide your students, as well. Find permission to search your soul, as well as practical step-by-step hints. Teachers are invited to stay for the student workshop to see these ideas in action.

Student workshop at 11:00 am
Come to this enlightening hands-on workshop. Bring your own percussion instrument (or two) and come prepared to make some noise! Our icebreaker music-making activities will help unlock your own belief in yourself to be creative. As we interact with each other and sounds, you will find confidence to make music without a page. As we explore sounds through different creative stages, you will learn some of the basic skills behind improvising, the basis of composition. We’ll also explore our own inner thought worlds as we find the reasons why creating is so important.
