Marc DesRoches (he/him) is an oboist and music educator from Miscouche, PEI. He holds a Bachelor of Music in Oboe Performance from UPEI and a Bachelor of Music Education from Memorial University. He is currently second chair oboe of the Prince Edward Island Symphony Orchestra and principal oboe of the Luminos Chamber Ensemble.
Throughout his career as an oboist, Marc has performed with the Prince Edward Island Symphony Orchestra, the Tutta Musica Orchestra, the UPEI Wind Symphony, the New Brunswick Youth Orchestra, and frequently plays with various local ensembles.
Marc is a former Teaching Artist at Sistema New Brunswick Moncton center. As an Oboe Teaching Artist, he taught private and group oboe lessons and worked with a variety of small/large ensembles consisting of students of Sistema, the Moncton Youth Orchestra, and the New Brunswick Youth Orchestra. He has experience working with woodwind students ranging from ages 7 to 18 years old. Marc operates his private music studio, Music with Marc, out of his home in Long River, PE, where he teaches his students on oboe, piano, woodwind instruments and music theory.
