I have been teaching music since 1985 and find it to be a very fulfilling occupation!
I recently moved back to my native Charlottetown after 35 years of teaching Music for Young Children and private piano in Dartmouth. I had many students who came to my studio from an early age until completing high school. It is rewarding to see them grow up and feel that I have enhanced their education by helping them develop a skill that will be with them for a lifetime. Many of them followed the Conservatory Canada program, did exams, and participated in music festivals and recitals. Some prefer a less structured approach. The goal is for them to progress in their ability and to enjoy making music.
I completed my ARCT teachers diploma from the Royal Conservatory of Music in 2006, and attend many informative workshops and conferences. I was active in the Nova Scotia Registered Music Teachers Association, serving as registrar for many years and then president of the Dartmouth chapter.
