Registered Subjects: Piano (AM3)

Other areas of musical instruction: Preliminary and advanced rudiments (up to RCM level 8)

For over 20 years Rosy has skillfully and successfully taught the piano to all ages. Her studio has consistently produced an A average in Royal Conservatory examinations (from Prep B to level 8 in practical and theory). Her teaching has produced Best in State awards. Rosy is equally experienced at teaching students with special needs including ADD, Autism, Down Syndrome and mental illness (e.g. depression). She was recruited by Queens University to help develop one of their programs. Rosy writes that her number one goal is to develop a lifelong love of making music and for students to develop, not only as musicians, but also as human beings. She often places emphasis on chord understanding, popular music and the use of lead sheets. Having had one of the largest private studios in Ontario (a studio of over 50 students) the majority of her students requested to continue as online students when Rosy relocated her studio to PEI. Her students often form a close bond and choose to remain with her throughout their education. She teaches in-person lessons at her studio in Kinkora. However, she is also extremely experienced at teaching online (which provides students with added flexibility and convenience). In addition to her Royal Conservatory accreditation, she has also joined the PEIRMTA in order that PEI students may have access to the wonderful performance opportunities that they provide.
